Speaker Details
Registration
As a small token of our appreciation for your service to CMDA, we waive the registration fee for our speakers. If you plan to bring your spouse or a guest, please have them register online at natcon.cmda.org or contact [email protected].
Honorarium
In addition to the complimentary registration, we also provide each breakout speaker with a $400 honorarium to assist with expenses (or $300 per session, if you speak more than once). If you decide to decline the honorarium, please let us know.
Hotel Reservations
You are responsible for making your own hotel reservations. CMDA has room blocks available at multiple properties in the Loveland area. You can find more information about making your hotel reservations at natcon.cmda.org.
Dress
Dress for speakers at the convention is business casual.
Audio/Visual Needs
Each breakout room will be equipped with a microphone, audio, projector and screen for your use. If you want to show a presentation, you will need to bring your own personal laptop. A tech person will be roaming through the breakout rooms helping to troubleshoot any connection issues, and the track dean will be available to assist as well. We do have the ability to load your breakout presentation and any other resources into the CMDA Go app, for our attendees to download. If you’d like to share that presentation to be pre-loaded, please sent it to [email protected] no later than April 1, 2026.
Onsite Logistics
You will receive any last-minute speaker instructions prior to the convention. When you arrive at the venue, you will need to visit the Check-in Registration desk to get your name badge. On the day of your session, you will need to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start time to get setup. Your track dean will be your onsite contact person in case of any issues.
Continuing Education Credits
Continuing Education Process
The main reason it is so important to provide your session details as soon as possible is because of deadlines required for continuing education credits. CMDA is accredited to provide credits and historically offers continuing education credits at the convention, which is a major draw for attendees. It is our responsibility to apply for credits as early as possible, so we can promote the credits to our attendees for several months prior to the convention.

Continuing Education Details for Speakers
Continuing medical education consists of educational activities which serve to maintain, develop or increase the knowledge, skills and professional performance and relationships that a physician uses to provide services for patients, the public or the profession.
The content of continuing medical education is that body of knowledge and skills generally recognized and accepted by the profession as within the basic medical sciences, the discipline of clinical medicine, and the provision of health care to the public.
- All recommendations for patient care in accredited continuing education must be based on current science, evidence and clinical reasoning, while giving a fair and balanced view of diagnostic and therapeutic options.
- All scientific research referred to, reported or used in accredited education in support or justification of a patient care recommendation must conform to the generally accepted standards of experimental design, data collection, analysis and interpretation.
- Though accredited continuing education is an appropriate place to discuss, debate and explore new and evolving topics, these areas need to be clearly identified as such within the program and individual presentations. It is the responsibility of accredited providers to facilitate engagement with these topics without advocating for, or promoting, practices that are not, or not yet, adequately based on current science, evidence and clinical reasoning.
Please be aware that CMDA cannot be accredited to provide continuing education if we advocate for unscientific approaches to diagnosis or therapy, or if our education promotes recommendations, treatment or manners of practicing healthcare that are determined to have risks or dangers that outweigh the benefits or are known to be ineffective in the treatment of patients.
Non-clinical topics must be evident in the learning objectives and explain how the topic relates to one of the following:
- Have a direct bearing on a physician’s ability to deliver patient care.
- Assist physicians in carrying out their professional responsibilities more effectively and efficiently.
- Directly support the profession of medicine.
For continuing dental education, dental topics must relate to topics identified by the Academy of General Dentistry’s (AGD) Subject Code. For more information on AGD credit see the Program Guidelines.
